Typical CoC faults found
Examples of non‑compliant items we find during CoC inspections, with a short explanation of why they are faults.
All faults identified during an inspection are listed in your report with a quotation to rectify them in full compliance with SANS 10142-1.
Main switch must be double pole. DBs must be correctly configured and labelled. DB spacers are required to close any hole in the DB.
The neutral wire insulation has melted. This is typically due to a loose connection resulting in a hot spot. The supply circuit breaker could also be over rated for the connected conductor.
The busbar is under rated and has over heated and the insulation has melted.
The under rated busbar wire got hot and melted the circuit breaker.
